You are invited to a summer filled with learning experiences that will help your brain blossom! As we head into summer, children and adults alike may have images of sleeping until noon, riding roller coasters, splashing in the pool, or building sandcastles on sunny, sandy beaches. After ten months of growth in the classroom inspired by awesome teachers, kids do need a break. However, with a little effort the academic "summer slide" can be minimized. Students can have fun continuing to learn during the summer and keep their minds razor-sharp, preparing them for a successful transition to the next grade level and beyond.
The purpose of this website is to present a resource where both parents and students may turn to experience fresh, exciting ideas in education. Some website links are suitable for older students to explore on their own. Parents of younger children will probably want to spend some time exploring the links with their children, guiding them to areas to promote growth and learning. Throughout the website, students of all ages, abilities, and interests will be inspired and motivated to learn for the fun of it!
Ansbach Elementary School The Home of the Mini-Cougars!
At AES, we have PRIDE!
Beginning in August 2014, your student(s) and you will be hearing the word PRIDE on a daily basis and it will be used in multiple contexts. First and foremost, PRIDE defines 21st century qualities we want our students to develop and internalize. We want our students to have positive learning experiences and enjoy the educational process. We desire our students to be responsible citizens and take ownership in their education. We need our students to be independent thinkers and problem solvers in our future work force. We seek to instill in our students the determination to keep trying, especially when the work is difficult and they struggle. We will empower our students to make decisions and become leaders.
Second, a group or family of cougars is called a PRIDE. We will miss our departing PRIDE members and warmly welcome new families and students into our Mini-Cougar PRIDE.
We wish you a safe and wonderful summer and look forward to seeing you in August!
