Accelerated Reader

The Accelerated Reader program is one of the most successful strategies our school uses to improve the reading skills of our students.  Each student takes the Star or Early Literacy placement test in September.  After getting his/her reading range, the student and teacher set a reading goal for each quarter.  Students read a book and get points for the correct answers.  Then they read another book and another. The Star and Early Literacy Tests are given again in January and May to assess each student's progress.  Our Information Center has over 9,000 tests which match the books on different levels.
