HARASSMENT POLICY

Every child is entitled to feel safe at school and going to and from school.  Any incident of bullying, harassment, verbal or physical assault that interferes with another student’s feelings of safety and security is not acceptable and will result in severe consequences.

Children experience stress and anger and frustration just as adults do.  Peer and group pressures may cause even the most responsible child to make an inappropriate choice of conduct.  When students act out in ways that are not acceptable at school, we try to look to the cause of misbehavior and provide children with acceptable alternatives.  Most of the inappropriate behavior we see is part of children’s natural social and emotional development.  Our goal is to teach children how to behave in ways that are acceptable and which also meet their needs.  Please do call us at any time you have a question or concern about discipline at AES.
